Terms of use

Effective 3 November 2026

In short. Play on foot and play fair. Watch the road, not the screen. Everything you write on a zone is public: no hate, harassment, sexual content, scams or impersonation. Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours; content that breaks these rules is removed and repeat or serious offenders lose their account.

Who we are

Footclaim is run by Igor Shentsev, Limassol, Cyprus (contact: hello@footclaim.app). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.

Who can play

You must be 16 or older. One account per person.

The game

A closed loop you walk or run becomes your zone. Zones last 30 days; a new loop over your zone restarts the clock.
Another player's loop through your zone takes the overlapping part. Parts smaller than 1,000 m² or narrower than 25 m do not count.
We may change the game rules and numbers to keep it fair and fun, and we may reset or remove zones, for example after a bug or abuse. Zones have no monetary value and are not your property.
Footclaim is in beta. It may change, stop working for a while, or lose data.

Fair play

Zones must be made on foot. Cycling, driving, riding a scooter, GPS spoofing, modified apps and sharing accounts are not allowed. We check runs automatically and may reject runs, remove zones or close accounts that cheat.

Your safety comes first

Pay attention to traffic and your surroundings, follow traffic rules, and do not enter private property, closed areas or anywhere unsafe to claim a zone. Footclaim never asks you to go anywhere in particular. You take part at your own risk.

What you put on a zone

Zone names, texts and links are public. You are responsible for them, and you must have the right to post them. You give us permission to show them in the app and on our website while the zone exists. Not allowed:

illegal content, or content that encourages violence or self-harm;
hate speech, harassment, threats or bullying;
sexual or pornographic content;
pretending to be another person, brand or organisation;
scams, phishing, malware, or links that mislead about where they lead;
spam, and anyone else's personal information.

Every link is checked by Google Web Risk before other players can see it. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

Reports, blocking and removal

You can report any zone from its card on the map, and block its owner. Blocked players' zones stay on your map but without their names, texts and links.
We review reports within 24 hours. Content that breaks these terms is removed, and its author may be blocked from posting or lose their account.
If you think we got a decision wrong, write to us.

Ending your account

You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Liability

We provide Footclaim as it is, without warranties, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect losses or for what other players post. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the consumer laws of your country.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
