Privacy policy
Effective 3 November 2026
In short. Footclaim records your location only while you are recording a walk or run, to work out the loop you closed. Your zones, player name and zone texts and links are public on the map. Raw routes are deleted after 90 days. You can delete your account and everything in it from the app at any time. We do not sell your data or show you tracking ads.

Footclaim is run by Igor Shentsev, Limassol, Cyprus, who is the controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact: hello@footclaim.app.

We do not collect your location when you are not recording a run. We do not use your data for advertising profiles and we do not sell it.
What other players see
- Your player name and display name.
- Your active zones on the map, with their name, text and checked link.
- When your loop cuts someone's zone, they see that a piece was taken and by whom.
Other players do not see your routes, your times or your exact path, only the zone shapes. Keep in mind that a zone shows where you walked; if you would rather not show a loop around your home, do not close one there.

How long we keep it
- Raw routes (every GPS fix of a run): 90 days, then deleted automatically. Zones stay.
- Zones: while active, 30 days after your last loop over them; ended zones are kept in your history until you delete your account.
- Account, profile, zones and reports you filed: until you delete your account.
- Database backups kept by our hosting provider may hold deleted data for a short time (up to 7 days) before it is overwritten.
Deleting your account
In the app, tap your name on the map, then Delete my account. Your profile, zones, runs and routes, links, reports you filed, blocks and device tokens are deleted at once. Zone history of other players keeps the fact that a piece was taken, without your name. You can also ask us by email.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, a copy in a portable format, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw location or motion permission at any time in iOS Settings; recording then stops working. Write to hello@footclaim.app. You can also complain to the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection (dataprotection.gov.cy) or the authority where you live.
Age
Footclaim is for people aged 16 and over. If you believe a younger person has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). The database allows each player to change only their own data; zone shapes are computed only on our server.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
